What will Apple launch? (Expected, not confirmed)
1. HomePad smart home display
- A small square display with a front camera, in a countertop version and a wall-mounted version.
- A new operating system built around Siri AI. Reports say it was held back until Siri AI was ready.

- Our earlier guide has the full details: Apple HomePad: release date, price and what it does.
2. New Apple TV 4K
- Reported to keep the current look but get a much faster chip than the A15 in the current model, more memory, Wi-Fi 7 through Apple’s N1 chip and a revised Siri Remote.
- Code in a tvOS 27.2 beta suggests it could pair with up to four HomePods for surround sound.
- For comparison, today’s Apple TV 4K costs $199 (64GB) or $249 (128GB with Ethernet), after a price rise in June.
3. HomePod mini 2
- Reported to keep the round design, get a newer chip, support Siri AI and come in five colors: green, pink, blue, white and black.
- The current HomePod mini costs $129.
- The full-size HomePod is not expected this time.
4. LG smart home accessories (maybe)
Bloomberg reported that Apple worked with LG on a video doorbell, smart lock and thermostat. LG may sell them under its own brand in a few months. It is unclear if they will appear on October 13.
When can you buy them?
One report says the smart home products should go on sale about a week after the announcement. Nothing is official. Reports also mention another Apple event about two weeks later for new laptops, including a MacBook Pro with an OLED screen.
Do you need iOS 27 for this?
The new devices are tied to Siri AI, which arrived with iOS 27. Our guides explain it: iOS 27 Siri AI and the iOS 27.0.1 bug-fix update. We also cover the earlier rumors in Apple event October 13: what to expect.
Should you wait to buy?
- If you want a smart display, wait for the event before buying anything similar.
- If you need an Apple TV or HomePod mini today, wait one day. Prices may not change, but new models usually arrive with the old ones discounted or removed.
